Autodesk offers free, fully functional educational licenses for most of their software, including Maya and 3DS Max. The offer is available to degree and continuing studies students, support staff, and to any faculty teaching at Emily Carr.
Please note that any your personal information you provide will be stored and accessed on Autodesk's servers which may be located worldwide outside of Canada. You are responsible for any risk associated with providing any additional personal information, and should read and understand your privacy options as described in Autodesk's Privacy Statement.
To access this education plan, you must create an Autodesk account and provide proof of enrollment once a year. Please note that Emily Carr does not facilitate the registration process and can only provide the following general instructions:
Step #2: Complete eligibility form
- Select Get Started as shown below
- Enter Name of Educational Institution
- Start typing 'Emily Carr University of Art and Design' and the field will auto-populate
- Enter Enrolled from date:
- Do not enter a future month/year
- Enter either a current or past enrolled month/year
- Enter Expected graduation date:
- Enter an approximate future month/year of course or program completion
Step #3: Upload proof of eligibility
Using your OneCard as proof of eligibility
- Scan or photograph your Emily Carr student, staff or faculty ID
- Ensure the image is clear
- Upload when prompted by registration process
- It may take up to 48 hours for SheerID to approve your status
- Expect to see a confirmation email when the process is complete
Alternate proof of eligibility (Continuing Studies)
- CS students may also use a course registration statement
- CS instructors may also use a copy of their instructional contract
