Note - Legal name / username changes are subject to approval by HR and/or Student Services.
Chosen / Cultural Name
You can edit your chosen or cultural name directly in MYEC.
- Log into your MYEC account
- Go to the “My Account” tab on the homepage and hit “User Profile”
- Use the button called “Edit Personal Identity” to make your adjustments
- Moodle will sync automatically
- Most systems update within 48 hours

Professional & Custom Usernames
Employees may request a shorter, more recognizable, or role-appropriate username by submitting a ticket.
Note - Custom email address and username changes are subject to approval and availability.
Username Mismatches
Create a ticket for assistance if your usernames are inconsistent across systems.
Application Usernames
- Changing your chosen/cultural name on the MyEC portal should update your name across university applications and systems such as Moodle.
- Create a ticket for assistance if your account does not update within 48 hours.
