Enabling Platform Single Sign On on your Mac

This guide will walk you through the process of enabling Platform Single Sign-On (SSO) for your macOS device using the notification provided by the Microsoft Company Portal app. This setup ensures that your macOS account and device are registered with your organization’s identity provider for a seamless and secure authentication experience.

Prerequisites

    •    Your device must be connected to the internet.

    •    Ensure you have your organization credentials ready for authentication.

 

Step-by-Step Instructions

 

Step 1: Receiving the Notification

    1.    You will receive a notification from the Microsoft Company Portal prompting you to register your macOS account.

    2.    Click on the notification to proceed with the registration.


 

Step 2: Platform Single Sign-On Registration Prompt

After clicking the notification, you will see the Platform Single Sign-on Registration window. Click Continue to proceed.

You will be prompted to authenticate using Touch ID or enter your Mac's password.

      

 

Step 4: Enabling the Entra ID Passkey

    1.    You will be prompted to enable your Entra ID passkey by configuring your device as a PassKey.

    •    Click on the button to 'Open System Settings' button.

    •    Enable Company Portal as a PassKey

 

Step 5: Confirmation

1. Once configured, you will receive a confirmation message that your Entra ID passkey has been successfully configured.

2. Click Close to complete the setup.

 

Step 6: Registration Completion

    1.    Once authenticated, you will see a confirmation screen indicating that the Platform Single Sign-on Registration is complete.

    2.    Click Close to finish the process.
