How to Change Your Colleague Password

Overview

This guide provides self-service instructions for updating current Colleague passwords and for resetting forgotten passwords.

Note: To follow this guide you will require:

  • An active connection to the campus network or VPN
  • A Colleague username and password which differs from your normal ECU account

 

Audience

ECU employees who use Colleague or Informer in their role.

 

How to Update a Current Password

Step 1:

Sign into https://mycolleague.colleagueservices.ca/

using your current password.

Step 2:

Click "Change My Password" on the top left corner of the homepage.

Step 3:

Enter your current password and confirm a new password.

  • Choose one with at least (13) characters, 

including at least (1) uppercase letter, (1) lowercase letter,

(1) number and (1) non-alphanumeric character.

  • We recommend a memorable, but unique phrase.

e.g., "Sunset-Comes-2-arctic-early-winter"

  • Never incorporate popular phrases.

e.g., I-Love-You, taking-care-of-business

  • Store your password in a trusted password manager.

e.g., Last Pass, Apple Keychain

 

 

How to Reset a Forgotten Password

Step 1:

Open https://mycolleague.colleagueservices.ca/

and click "Reset My Password".

Step 2:

Enter your Colleague username and ECU email address

 and then click “Submit Request”.

Step 3:

Locate the new email that has been sent to your ECU inbox,

and click the password reset link to proceed.

Step 4:

Enter your current password and confirm a new password.

  • Choose one with at least (13) characters, 

including at least (1) uppercase letter, (1) lowercase letter,

(1) number and (1) non-alphanumeric character.

Further Assistance

  • If you cannot regain access to your account, please submit a ticket and include your Colleague username.
