Service Details

Eligibility

University laptops are assigned to employees of Emily Carr, including:

  • Staff (Temporary and Permanent)
  • Faculty (Regular)

Assigned devices may be requested for:

  • Staff (casual and contract) with Manager's approval.
  • Faculty (non-regular) with Dean's approval, if inventory allows.
  • Students with an accommodations request approval, if inventory allows.

Device upgrades and accessories are also available:

  • requests are subject to review and approval from the employee's manager & IT Services.
  • assigned laptops are upgraded by IT Services every four years
  • laptops with significant issues (e.g., battery, screen) may be replaced sooner
  • upgrades beyond our basic product offering are subject to approval and may require a budget transfer from the requesting area
