Lockers are available for current, registered undergraduate and graduate students. Review eligibility, pricing, and choose whether you are requesting a new locker rental or renewing an existing locker rental.

Eligibility

Locker rentals are available to current, registered undergraduate and graduate students.

New Locker Rental

Follow the steps below to request a new locker:

Step 1

Locate an empty locker on campus and note its unique locker code.

  • For example, locker D3-377 is in the D section on the 3rd floor and is physically labelled D3-377.

Step 2

Submit a locker request from this page using the locker code you identified.

Note: If your desired locker code does not appear on the request form, it has already been claimed by another student.

Step 3

You will receive a notification confirming the locker has been reserved and, if applicable, how to make payment. You will receive another notification once the temporary lock has been removed and the locker is ready for your personal lock.

Step 4

After your locker request is approved, the charge will be added to your MyEC account.

How to Pay

Option 1: Pay from a Canadian bank using online banking bill payment
- Sign into your Canadian bank's online banking or phone app and navigate to the bill payment area.
- Add Emily Carr University as a payee.
- Enter your student number as the account number.
- Pay the amount due.

Option 2: Pay at the Student Payments Office
- Visit the Student Commons in person.
- Open Monday-Friday, 9 am - 4:15 pm.
- Pay by debit, Visa, Mastercard or cheque.

Option 3: Pay by phone
- Call 604-629-4515.
- Open Monday-Friday, 9 am - 4:15 pm.
- Pay by Visa or Mastercard only.

Step 5

The locker is now ready for you to add your own lock and use.

Renew Locker Rental

If you would like to keep your current locker, you must submit a renewal request during the renewal period.

  • Renewals are subject to eligibility and availability.
  • You must submit your renewal request before the posted deadline.
  • If payment applies, charges will be added to your MyEC account.
  • Lockers not renewed by the deadline may be reassigned.
Reminder: Please review your locker number carefully. If there is any issue or discrepancy, reply to your confirmation message as soon as possible.

Terms + Conditions

By submitting this request, I understand and agree to the following:

  • Locker allocation
    • Lockers are issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
    • Locker fees are non-refundable.
    • No student shall occupy a locker until ticket request has been submitted.
    • Lockers are not mandatory.
  • Usage and responsibilities
    • Students are limited to using one locker at a time per semester.
    • Students may only use the locker assigned to them and must provide their own padlock or combination lock.
    • Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECU) does not provide or sell locks.
    • Use of the lockers as permanent, year-round storage is not permitted.
    • Persons renting lockers must vacate and remove locks and all contents at the end of the rental period.
    • Contents include supplies, personal items, and any items affixed to the locker itself (stickers, posters, etc.).
    • Items stored on top of lockers must also be removed at the end of the rental period.
    • Any items stored in the lockers beyond the rental period will be removed and disposed of, without exceptions.
    • Facilities will notify students about end dates at least one month before the end date, with subsequent messaging as the date nears.
  • Liability, conduct, and maintenance
    • Locker contents remain the sole responsibility of the renter at all times.
    • ECU shall not assume responsibility for any liability connected with loss or any other unforeseeable situations connected therewith.
    • ECU does not permit the storage of dangerous, hazardous, illegal or offensive items in lockers.
    • ECU reserves the right to access lockers at any time, without notice, for reasonable cause, including (but not limited to) suspicion of possession of illegal property, complaints with reasonable grounds, inappropriate use of locker space, or any unforeseen situation deemed an emergency by the university.
    • The renter must not modify the locker or affix additional structures to the locker.
    • The renter must exercise caution when storing foods, liquids or other substances inside lockers to prevent the escape of such items into other lockers.
    • The renter must keep the locker clean and odor-free at all times.
    • If the locker is damaged or deemed not to be in a condition comparable to what it was at the start of the rental term, the renter may be subject to a cleaning or restoration fee.
    • The renter must report any maintenance problems with their locker or locker hardware by using this form.
    • ECU will not, under any circumstances, accept responsibility for the loss, damage, removal of locks or locker contents, or the loss of locker contents after removal.
