Continuing Studies Course Transfer Request

About Course Transfer Requests

Students who have completed a course at another institution may request a Course Transfer to determine whether that learning can be formally recognized toward a Continuing Studies course or certificate program.

Course Transfer requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must meet institutional policy and documentation requirements. Submission of a request does not guarantee approval.

Important Information


  • Students may apply for a combined maximum of two course transfers or course challenges per certificate.
  • Course Transfer requests are processed only once all required documentation and payment have been received.
  • Please allow up to four weeks for processing after payment and documentation are confirmed.

Fees

  • The administrative fee for processing a Course Transfer request is $75 per course.
  • Payment is required before the academic review begins. Payment instructions will be provided after your request is reviewed for completeness.
  • Payment authorizes the review of your request but does not guarantee approval.

Required Documentation

You will be asked to upload one combined PDF that includes:

  • A copy of your transcript showing successful completion of the course, and
  • A copy of the course outline (syllabus) from the transferring institution.

If you have multiple documents, please combine them into a single PDF before uploading.

Prior Learning and Course Readiness


Some Continuing Studies courses recommend prior experience to help students fully benefit from the learning.

If you are seeking advice about whether your background or experience is sufficient to meet recommended prerequisites, please book an advising appointment instead of submitting a Course Transfer request.

Course Transfer requests are used only to assess completed coursework for possible formal recognition.

What Happens After You Submit


  • Your request will be reviewed by Continuing Studies staff to confirm all required information is provided.
  • If your request is eligible to proceed, you will be contacted with payment instructions.
  • Once payment and documentation are confirmed, the course will be reviewed for equivalency.
  • You will be notified of the outcome through this request.
